MRI
Patients with pacemakers, intracranial metal clips, heart valves or those who may be pregnant must notify us of their condition when scheduling their appointments.
CT ABDOMEN AND/OR PELVIS
Patients must pick up oral contrast (Barium) in our office 1 day prior to the exam. Patient must fast 4 hours prior to the exam. Continue taking your medications as usual (excluding Glucaphage). No oral contrasts (Barium) should be taken.
CT THORAX/HEAD/NECK
Patients must fast 4 hours prior to exam, if the exam is ordered with IV contrast. Continue taking your medications as usual (excluding Glucaphage). No oral contrasts (Barium) is needed for these exams.
BARIUM ENEMA/ BARIUM ENEMA WITH AIR CONTRAST *
We recommend Fleet Prep Kit #2. Available without a prescription at any pharmacy. Follow directions on box.
IVP ADULT
Nothing to eat or drink after 10pm (except medications). Obtain one Fleet Kit Prep #1 from the drug store. Follow the directions included in the box for the 24 hour preparation. Start the preparation one day before the exam.
UPPER GI/SMALL BOWEL SERIES
Morning Appointments: No food or drink except for medication, with a small amount of water.
Afternoon Appointments: Light breakfast (no dairy or fatty foods) Patients must fast 4-6 hours prior to appointment time.
OB AND/OR PELVIS ULTRASOUND
Drink 32 oz. of water 1 hour before appointment time. Do not urinate until after exam
MAMMOGRAM
Do not use deodorant, perfume or dusting powder on your underarms or breasts the day of the exam. Please bring any previous mammograms with you for comparison.
